What Is A Typical Day For Ms. Peterson and her students?
We begin our day with my 25 students coming in and gathering their materials for the day. I allow them time to organize themselves, putting their backpacks and belongings in their cubbies on the side of the room. During this time, I have an activity for all students to do: this is typically a craft or worksheet reviewing material that was assigned for homework.
Throughout the day, we have our core curriculum classes (Math, Reading, Writing Workshop, Social Studies, Science) Here is our Daily Schedule! -8:00: Morning Bell Work! 8:00-8:55: Writing Workshop 8:55-9:45: Social Studies 9:45-10:45: Reading 10:45-11:05: Gym 11:05-12:00- Elective for the Day (Art, Music, Library Time) 12:00-12:45: Lunch and Recess 12:45-1:50: Math 1:50-2:10: Recess 2:10-2:55: Science 2:55-3:00: Assignment Notebook/Gather To Go Home 3:00-: Going Home! |
Our school district does participate in Inclusion for All, and this year I have three students who are a part of the low incidence disability spectrum (I have more information about LID on my Class Curriculum Page).
